Divisional Secretariat - Kelaniya

On the instructions of the Kelaniya Divisional Secretary Gayani Ranasinghe and the Deputy Planning Director, with the intervention of the Community Development Officer H.M. Anura, Ayurveda Development Officer Mrs. Salika, Family Health Services Officer and government officials of the division, the Community Development Committee of 262 A Mewella Grama Niladhari Division organized a nutrition awareness program for fifty pregnant mothers and women in the area on Wednesday, 2026/08/05 at the Gurunnange Watta Community Hall, Mewella. Practical preparation of nutritious food from local ingredients, Ayurvedic medical clinic, awareness on dengue control, and distribution of medicinal powder for dengue mosquito control.

"National Integrity Week" begins successfully at the Kelaniya Divisional Secretariat!In line with the national mission to build a "Integrity Culture - Clean Sri Lanka", the inaugural program of the National Integrity Week, which will be implemented from July 27th, was held at the office premises on 27.07.2026 under the patronage of the Divisional Secretary and other staff officers and with the active participation of the entire staff.

The pledge for an integrity and law-abiding public service was given by all the officers.The Kelaniya Divisional Secretariat is fully committed to providing an exemplary public service that is law-abiding, transparent, free from bribery and corruption and accountable to the people to the clients.

An entertainment program was held on 17.07.2026 at the main hall of the office under the guidance of Lecturer Kithsilu Dhanaja Wickramasinghe.

Let's Eliminate Dengue

A special cleaning program titled "Let's eradicate dengue" and a practical awareness campaign on this menace were held at Bodhigrama in the Kelaniya Divisional Secretariat on Saturday, 18.07.2026, under the Deya Nanwana Sapiri Gamak program implemented by the Clean Sri Lanka program and the National Productivity Secretariat.

Special Dengue Control Programme - Kelaniya Divisional Secretariat Division

A dengue control program was implemented in the Galborella Division on 2026-07-05, covering the dengue high-risk zones of the Kelaniya Divisional Secretariat Division, during which cleaning of public places, house inspections and labor donations were carried out.

Public Health Inspectors, Police Officers, Pradeshiya Sabha, Samurdhi Officer, Grama Niladhari and residents of the area participated in this event.
